DARGAVILLE AERODROME.
SUITABLE SITES INSPECTED COMMITTEE SET UP. [Special, to “Northern Advocate."} DARGAVILLE, This Day. It was unanimously resolved by a well attended meeting, presided over by the Mayor of Dargaville, Mr F. A. Jones, that the time had arrived for definite action to be taken to secure for the town and district an area of land in a central position for the establishment of an aerodrome. The meeting was held for the purpose of discussing the question of a permanent site for an aerodrome at Dargaville. Mr Jones said that already two sites had been inspected, one at Aoroa and the other at the Dargaville racecourse. Both were deemed suitable. The following committee was appointed to make preliminary arrangements:—Borough Council representatives, Messrs F. A; Jones and J. A. McLean; County Council, Messrs F. Wordsworth, W. Gorrie; Racing Club, Dr. M. Greville and Mr C. S. Rush; Chamber of Commerce, Messrs T. G. Everson and F. C. Gould; Aero Club, Messrs G. McKay and B. T, Jones. Mr F. A. Jones was appointed chairman and Mr Gould secretary.
