WILES OF A GIRL
DEALERS ALLEGEDLY DUPED. FOUR BICYCLES BOUGHT. [Per Press Associatiov. — Covyright.i HAWERA, This Day. Practically every Hawera cycle dealer is bemoaning the fact that he recently fell a victim to the wiles of a girl and paid good money for a bicycle which the vendor had no right to sell. The girl, who is about 19 years of age, went into a shop and told a story of being about to go to Wanganui, and, not wishing to have the. inconvenience of taking her bicycle with her on the back of her Baby motor car, she asked the dealer if he would buy the bicycle. He agreed to buy it for 12/6. The girl left the shop and returned a few minutes later with a bicycle. On the money being paid she departed —not for Wanganui, but to another cycle shop. Three more dealers were caught with a similar tale and with the same result. It was later discovered that all the cycles had been stolen from the street. The girl, who has not been located, in all obtained about £4.
