Dennis. KOHUKOHU OPENING. The Kohukohu Golf Club opened its season during the week-end. About 80 golfers were present. In the absence of the president, 'Mr Kirkpatrick, Mr M. Clapham performed the ceremony and Mrs Clapham drove the first ball. At the conclusion of the day Mr F. C. Hargreaves, president of the Rawene Club, thanked the Kohukohu Culb for an enjoyable day., KAIKOHE START. The Kaikohe Golf Club held its opening over the week-end. The president, Mb A. H. Wright, made reference to improvements done to the links this year, and wished all members an enjoyable season. Mrs Wright drove the first ball, after which the / players paired off for a match between the captain’s and the president’s teams, the former returning the winners by a small margin. After lunch was served a) mixed foursome tournament was placed, Mrs and Heslop returning the winning card, with Mrs Mountain and A. J. Edwards runners-up. Considering the tremendous amount Of growth that there has been this season, and the generally, unfavourable golfing conditions prevailing, the course was in good order, clearly, indicating extensive preparations which will later provide members with a fine country course.
