FRENCH ARMY COMMANDER
GENERAL GAMELIN CHOSEN. BRILLIANT WAR RECORD. (Received 9 a.m.) PARIS, January 20. General Gamelin, aged 62, has been appointed to succeed General Weygand, who has reached the age limit (68), as Commander-in-Chief of the French Army. General Gamelin had a brilliant war record and later commanded in Syria.
