CHINESE COMMUNISTS. WUHU THREAT REMOVED.: /. NO NEWS OF MISSIONARIES. ; SHANGHAI, December 27. The anxiety that was felt regarding the safety of Wuhu and other'important centres along the Yangtse' River, following Communist depredations' in South Anwhei, has been dispelled. Supported by aeroplanes,' Government troops are reported to. have successfully driven the biggest Communist force, consisting of 50,000 men,'toward the mountain regions. ; This has removed the immediate threat; to Wuhu. There is still no reassuring report about the safety of the two captive missionaries, Messrs A. Haymian, of Auckland, and Bossharht, of Switzerland, who were captured on October 9.
