SHOCKING MISHAP
BROTHER SHOOTS SISTER. ACCIDENTAL OCCURRENCE. [Special to “Northern Advocate”! TAUMARUNUI, This Day. A young woman, Ethel McCann, aged 29, met with a remarkable accident at Taringamotu, yesterday. Her brother Owen, was in the act of loading a shotgun with the intention of going out rabbit shooting, when the weapon unexpectedly discharged. Miss McCann, who' was inside the house washing up the dishes, received a portion of the discharge from the gun, the pellets piercing the boarding of the house and striking her in the back of the head. Miss McCann fell to the floor in an unconscious condition, and, after receiving medical attention, was taken to the Taumarunui hospital, where she died at 7 o’clock this morning.
