HORSE WAS A “GIVE-AWAY.”
Has anyone heard this delightful tale against Mark Twain before? When he was a young man he wanted to cut a dash with a girl, and for that purpose borrowed a horse and trap one fine Sunday afternoon. Off he went with his girl in groat style, but the horse, instead of trotting, crossed the road diagonally, and stopped at every other house. Then the mortifying fact was revealed that on week days it did the rounds will) the local milkman!
