LATEST AUCTION PRICES.

[Special to “Northern AUCKLAND, This Day. The entry of pigs at the Matamata sale yesterday approximated to 700. Fat and store pigs were penned, and a total clearance was effected to a good bench of buyers. The top price for baconers was secured for a pen of choice heavyweights which realised 72/. In the store section competition was very keen, and in consequence values firmed on recent quotations. Values were:—Heavy baconers, 65/ to 72/; medium, 58/ to 64/; light. 52/ to 57/; heavy porkers, 44/ to 51/; medium, 40/ to 44/; light and unfinished, 34/ to 39/; choppers, 36/ to 44/; best stores, 34/6 to 37/6; others, 29/ to 34/; slips, good quality, 28/; others, 21/ to 27/6; best baconers, 21/6; others, 16/ to 20/; sows in pig, 20/ to 55/. On Tuesday Messrs Alfred Buckland and Son, Ltd., held a pig sale at Helensville, and reports as follows: — We had a good yarding of all classes of pigs. Values were firm throughout. Lightweight choppers made 35/ to 45/; heavy baconers. 65/ to 70/; medium, 58/ to 62/; light, 53/ to 56/; heavy porkers, 49/ to 51/; medium, 41/ to 46/; small and light. 36/ to 39/. A strong demand existed for all stores, and prices ruled high. Medium-fram-ed made to 35/; slips, 26/ to 31/; good weaners, 16/ to 22/; others, 12/ to 14/.
