GIRL FLIER MISSING
IN CENTRAL AUSTRALIA SEARCH PLANES READY.
(Received 11.30 a.m.) DARWIN, This Day. Miss Freda Thompson, the girl flier who arrived here after a leisurely trip from England, left for Newcastle. Waters at 10 yesterday morning, but has not reached there. She was reported passing Powell’s Creek 00 miles south of Newcastle Waters, flying southward, and it is presumed she missed Newcastle Waters and is now lost in Central Australia. .
Two Moth planes are prepared to leave Darwin this morning to search for Miss Thompson if no word is received of her whereabouts.
