j REGENT. I “LET’S TRY AGAIN.” j ’ Adapted from the stage success, “Sour Grapes,” the film “Let’s Try Again,” was screened at the Regent last evening, bringing together again Diana Wynyard and Clive Brook, the stars of “Cavalcade.” It is a subtle drama i - of mature love, and concerns itself witlx the crisis in the lives of a husband and wife when x’omance seems to have vanished and they have not j yet adjusted themselves to a calmer I and more lasting x’egax’d. The princi- ■ pals are a doctor and his wife, who j have been married ten The j doctor has grown lax in the little attentions that are a woman’s due. His (wife feels neglected and wants to re- ! kindle the thrill of early x'omance. I Both turn to other interests in their [effort to capture a lost romance, and | the plot develops in a series of surj prising climaxes that keep the audience lin a constaxxt state of expectancy. I Diana Wynyard brings fine artistry to the role of the dissatisfied wife, lending I a subtle touch that alternately retains sympathy for her, and x'ouses suspense during her attempts to substitute the unx’eal for the real. Clive Brook is well cast as the obtruse husband who does not realise that neglect of attentions which count so much with his wife, is leading to disastex\ Helen Vinson is delightful as the “other woman.” and Theodore Newton gets the most out of his unsympathetic part, that of the man to whom the wife turns in her effort to recapture romance. “Let’s Ti'y Again” makes for good entertainment, and the Regent, an excellent place to finish after the races.
