DUKE OF GLOUCESTER

A BRILLIANT BALL. (Received 12.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Some 2000 guests witnessed brilliant pageantry at Lord Huntingfield’s ball at Government House, given in honour of the Duke of Gloucester. The crush was so great that some of the guests were admitted by side doors. The Duke received debutantes, and opened the dance with the Governor’s daughter. Enthusiastic crowds heard the fare-r well concert of the Grenadier Guards’ band in ideal open air conditions.
