Mrs. H. E. Beveridge, of Norfolk Street, is leaving Whangarei this week to take up residence in Christchurch. Professor H. Belshaw, Professor of Economics at Auckland University College, will leave next month on a visit to the United States, on the first stage of his travels in his Sabbatical Year.

Mr F. J. White, a former resident of the district, is visiting Whangarei. He is accompanied by Mrs White and her sister. Mrs Tonks, and they have been spending a few days -with their sister, Mrs A. C. Symo, Huanui. The following appointments were made to-day by the Auckland Education Board: Mr, F. M. Shepherd, sole teacher at Moerewa; Mrs. E, H. Andrew, sole teacher, Opuawhanga; Mr. R. M. Connor, sole teacher, Ruarangi and Taipuha; Mr. P. H. D. Smith, assistant master, Waiharara; Miss E. I. Dean, assistant mistress, Whananaki; Miss E. Fleming, assistant mistress, Peria.
