PROMOTION OF EX-SOLDIERS.
PREJUDICE DENIED,
(Per Press Association.—Copyright.)
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

'Sterling, takes exception to the allegation that returned soldiers, because of their war service disabilities, are being denied promotion in the railway service, Mr Sterling said the suggestion that there was a bias against returned men was entirely incorrect. The policy of the department was, whenever possible, to give consideration to .returned men if they were fit for any position and, all things being equal, even to give them preference.
