ASTOUNDING DETAILS BRITISH ANALYSIS RESULTS. SAMPLES CONTAINING POISON. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, August 9, Extraordinary details of adulteration of food are given in the annual report of the Ministry of Health. This says that 31,000 samples of miscellaneous foods were analysed during the year. The resultant discoveries include the following:—Yeast, containing arsenic: eider, dried pears and canned beans, containing copper; chicken and ham paste, containing load; and spice, beef and tongue, containing tin. The report states that a sample of “concentrated lime juice” consisted of a flavoured solution of citric a<?id with glycerine, and that some sodawater entirely lacked sodium bicarbonate.
