WAIPU
THE SOCIAL SPHERE. A kitchen evening was given in the Waipu Hall on Monday evening to Miss Irene Moreland and Mr Donald McLean., A collection of beautiful and useful articles was presented to the guests of the evening by Mr D. McKenzie on behalf of those present. Novelty dances were won by Misses McAulay and C. y Blagrove, and Messrs. B. Bussell and I. McLean. On Saturday evening Mr and Mrs Kay entertained a number of friends at a card evening. Prizes we're won by Miss M. McLeod and Mr A. Bussell. Mrs Kay received her guests in a saxc blue sand crepe frock. Air and Mrs B. 11. Boyes have loft the district, Mr Boyes having been appointed postmaster at Whakapara, Inposition at Waipu being tilled by Mr W. Mcßao, of Hiknrangi. . Mr A. Peterson is at present relieving at the "Waipu Post Office. Miss Joan Coates, of Auckland, is spending a holiday in Waipu. ' Nurse Foote, late of the Whaugarei Hospital, is spending a holiday with Mrs McLennan, of Waipu Cove. Mesdames A’. Bussell and .1. C. McKay, who are at present inmates of the Whaugarei Hospital, are progressing favourably.
