GUILTY OF ASSAULT
ACCUSED FOE SENTENCE. (Per Press Association,— Oopyrlght.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A verdict of guilty was returned by the jury in the Supreme Court yesterday, in a ease in which Benjamin Kirkbmlo was charged before Mr Justice Ostler with assault, causing actual bodily harm. Accused was remanded for sentence. The evidence for tlie police went to show that a fracas occurred in a boarding-house in Tinakori Load on August 2Gth, when, it was alleged, a drunken man kicked and punched Clifford Baxter, who lived in the house, breaking his leg. The man on whom the alleged attack was made appeared in court on crutches. He said he was in hospital for about three months and had had two operations. He was still receiving treatment. ■ ■ -
