GOVERNOR-GENERAL’S SPEECH
The curtain is being drawn today on the spectacular, national manifestation which has been enacted at Waitangi in honour of the 94th anniversary of the conclusion of the epoch-making Treaty, and to mark the generous presentation to New Zealand of the whole estate, with its historic buildings and other appurtenances. The great function is being wound up amid scenes of enthusiasm which are probably unparalleled in the annals of the Dominion.
