Hands, returned by the Alarama from Sydney yesterday after a brief visit to Australia. Air Hands said that one of the reasons for his trip was to sec the new studios erected at Newcastle by the Australian Broadcasting Board.. Ho had been very much impressed by them. The number of radio licenses was increasing rapidly, and was now on the 300,000 mark. The commission was pursuing a policy of importing notable artists from abroad, and there appeared to be no doubt its efforts to Improve the standard of programmes wore appreciated by 'people in Australia.
