(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) Group School Events. Saturday, 12th inst., saw the second round of the football and basketball contests of the Ngararatunua, Te Mata.ran, Kuatangata, Puma and Te Hor:) group area. To Horn- wore not represented, being unable to arrange transport.
The day proved unfavourable, on account of a high wind prevailing; especially was this noticed in the mat tor of placing basketball goals. Miss Pepeno and Mr P. Thomas controlled the games of basketball and football, with popular decisions. The winning teams will travel to Whangarei after the August vacation and there play off against other winning teams from other groups. Following are the final points of the I local group:— | Basketball. —Puma 0 points, Ngararatunua (1, Te Matarau and Kuatangata, 4 each. Football.—Ngararatunua .14 points. Puma 7, Kuatangata (>, To Horn 5, Te Matarau 0. Puma will represent this group in the finals and Ngararatunua for the football finals at the centre place of meeting. Basketball. Ngararatunua 2, v.
