TITOKI
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Titoki school children entertained a. large gathering of parents and friends at a break-up concert on Friday, August 11. The programme, which consisted of recitations, songs and dances, was well received. Miss Hicks kindly played the accompaniments. The main feature of the • evening was a musical and elocutionary number entitled “The White Garland,” which included all the children. The principal parts were portrayed by Mavis Alexander (as the Queen), Hug ha Fraser, Peggy Breslin, Colin Thomassen, Nutty Edmonds, and Noel Griffin.
A part song entitled “T will sing the first part,” by several boys, was warmly applauded. A group song, with chorus and action, was rendered by M. Purvis, M. Soich, 0. Smith, N.' Edmonds and B. Eraser. Recitations were given by Ken McCanll, Bon Fraser, Shirley and Maxton Soieh, Shirley Alexander and Pat Eraser. Peggy and Kathleen Breslin, quaintly attired in cld-time costume, danced a minuet. Folk dancing and a skilful display of wand drill added variation to the entertainment.
After supper the floor was cleared, and dancing continued until midnight. The proceeds of the entertainment will augment a fund which was reently opened with the object of purchasing a school piano.
