Tho registry offices in many cities are besieged with crowds of young couples desiring to marry and thus take advantage of the loan scheme which has just come into force. They are entitled to borrow from 300 to 3000 marks (£ls to £SO at par) in certificates, whioh are exchangeable for furniture and household utensils.

The loans are repayable at one per cent per month, but a quarter of tho total loan is remitted for each child born in the next eight years. This is part of the scheme of the Chancellor, Herr Hitler, for restoring women to their right, task of motherhood. It is estimated that within four years, 1,000,000 women will be withdrawn from industry and their jobs given to men.
