BELGIAN LOAN OF RADIUM. > (Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, July 14. The Belgian Radium Company has lent to British research workers five grammes of radium, worth £75,000. This is the largfest single radium “bomb” ever used in England, eclipsing by four grammes the “bomb’.’ in Westminster Hospital. The Belgian loan later may be subplemented by another five grammes. It will then constitute a unit second only in size to the 15 grammes “bomb” shortly to be used in Brussels. The loaned radium has been, placed in the Radium Institute, where a special research committee has been •formed to manage the “bomb.’
