COINING PLANT UNEARTHED
CONSTABLE’S CLOSE CALL. INHALED CYANIDE FUMES. (Received 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The police raided a Maltese farm at Blaektown, 22 miles west of Sydney, and found a coining plant, and about 1000 counterfeit shillings and florins buried on the farm. They also seized three revolvers and arrested three men. During the search a constable was nearly poisoned by cyanide fumes, but a detective, saved his life by knocking the bottle from his hand. The constable collapsed, but later recovered.
