MINER’S DEATH
WOUND SELF-INFLICTED,
(Special to “Northern Advocate.”) THAMES, Wednesday.
William James Majury, aged 44, miner, a resident of Tararu Creek Road for many years, was found shot yesterday afternoon in the backyard of his residence.
At the inquest this morning, Dr. Hetherington said there was a gunshot AVound in the frontal region of the skull. The injuries, which were sufficient to cause death, could have been self-inflicted. The widow stated that deceased Avas in very bad health, having had miners’ complaint for many years. The coroner, Mr W, Bongard, gaA’e a verdict that death avos caused by a gunshot Avonnd self-inflicted while deceased Avas depressed following a Jong period of ill-health.
