There was considerable discussion on the London report that the Commonwealth of Australia yesterday paid the interest on the 44 per cent 1926 loan in New York in paper dollars instead of gold, thus virtually gaining a. discount, of. 124 per cent.
The Australian Press Association understands that, the . representatives of London banks who collected ,pn behalf of customers'.accepted .paper binder protest and without prejudice 'to a subsequent claim.
