FOUND DEAD
FACE DOWN IN DITCH. (Per Press Association. —■''Vipyrleht.) - AUCKLAND, This Day!" Air. .lames AJcCaw, aged S2, of Greenhithe, was found dead, lying face downwards in a ditch near his homo at S o'clock last night.
An inquest was opened by Air. W. R. AlcKean, S.AL, this afternoon, when evidence of identification was given by deceased's son, .who said his father had formerly been a farmer. Deceased and witness lived together in a whare at Greenhithe. Yesterday afternoon, at 2.2 d, witness left his father resting in bed. On returning from the store at d.MO p.m. he could not find his father. A search was organised and deceased was found lying face downwards in a ditch near the home. Witness knew that his father sometimes had fainting (its. It appeared as though he had fallen on his face and (hen suffocated. The inquest was adjourned pending the result of a post mortem examination.
