A charge of theft of £97, while employed .as a servant, was brought against Leonard Mansell Durrall Cummins, .formerly inspector of the Alliance Insurance Company, Christchurch, in the .(Supreme Court today. The defence was that there was no guilty intent, and the money was only held bach. Mr Justice McGregor, in summing up, said the money was used by the accused for his own purposes and was repaid when suspicion was thrown on him.
The Jury, after a short retirement, returned a verdict of not guilty.'
