Holmes, the Mayor said that it had been agreed between the Borough Council and the Bounin Catholic Church authorities that, on the street being dedicated, the strip running down to the Convent would be handed over to the borough, on consideration of the provision of a. proper footway. The Mayor and town clerk wore appointed to further negotiate with the church authorities. Today Mansfield Terrace is a borough street.

Drastic action to induce the Government to provide firing for the New Brighton District High School, near Christchurch, was suggested at the annual meeting of householders. It was decided that the incoming committee be asked not to spend money on firing, and when the present tiring was used to request parents to keep their children from school until such time as the Government sent firing to the school.

Hutchison, said ho had seen a ticket sponsored by the Protestant Political Association which had been put forward without his knowledge.
