MOTION RESCINDED

HARBOUR BOARD’S DECISION. PRESENT POSITION VAGUE. Without any explanation, the Whangarei Harbour Board today rescinded the. resolution passed on December 20 last in\*olving the collection of a laud rate by the board. The chairman, Mr .1. A. Einlayson, said that further information had come to hand enabling him to give notice of motion to rescind the resolution. Without further discussion the motion Avas carried unanimously.

Subsequently the Board went into committee.

An ‘'Advocate’’ representative learned unofficially that negotiations were still in progress which might make the collection of a rate unnecessary, In any event, tiie levy would probably be less than previously suggested.
