In an article in "Depeche de Ton-’ louse,”, AL Herriot, who is to go to Washington to confer with . President Roosevelt, describes the German protest against the British House ,of -Commons debate as a new blunder .added to so many others. Besides, lie states, one cannot defy Israel Avith impunity.
Praising tho House of Commons’ condemnation of Hie revision of treaties in view of the present state of Germany, M. ITerriot' declares that Britain has awakened and the four-Power pact has been thrown overboard.
“We can breathe again,” he says. “The vigorous British democracy now understands what is hidden under the sophism of treaty revision. It is a remarkable volte face, facilitating our work at Washington.”
