AUCKLAND BUSES
TRANSPORT BOARD'S SERVICES. OFF MR TO PRIVATE OPERATOR. NOW RUNNING AT T.OSP, (Special to "Northern Advocate.’’) AUCKLAND, This Day. If private operators, or a combination of them, are prepared to take over the Auckland Transport Board’s bus services, the board, as a licensing authority, will issue licenses for them. This decision was made today after a discussion on a report showing that on the present year’s working, the board’s buses showed a loss of £18,128. The excess of working expenses over revenue was £9. r )l2.
The chairman, Air J. A. C. Allnm, said no application to take over one bus service would be granted. Private operators must take all or none, and must undertake to maintain substantially the 1 same services at the same faros.
