New Zealand’s richest acre is under water and AMi is its crop. It is known amongst fishermen as the North Reef, and is sixteen miles beyond Taiaroa Heads, Otago, the compass course from the Hads being N.E. by N. About an acre in extent, the reef was duicovered some 28 years ago, and for years b cropped .CHID a day in groper, kingfish, bass and bream. At tirst it was inaccessible in rough weather, but lishing boato have been ehanging to a larger type, and the big, powerful Ashing launches of today can face weather that the old whaleboats could nntdook at. It is understood that half'a million pounds’ worth of Ash has been landed from the North "Reef, and it is still a good Ashing -grounds
