WATERSIDER INJURED
HIT BY PIPE ENGINE
(Special to "Northern Advocate.") WELLINGTON, This Day
A waterside worker. Air -L AlcSperrin, was struck by a fire engine at Ihe Featherstou ami Bunny Streets iuteisection las evening. He suffered severe internal injuries, and was taken to the hospital in an unconscious condition.
The Central Eire Station had received a call, and two engines were sent out. The first negotiated the Intersection without incident, but as the second was about to cross a motor car turned to go into P.mmy Street. The engine driver, seeing that a crash was imminent, applied the brakes, and thi engine turned completely round. M' AlcSpevrin was standing on the pavement, and it is thought he was struck by a. ladder attached to the engine. He was thrown against a fence and knocked unconscious.
