FIRE AT MARUA
A COTTAGE DESTROYED. Mr M. T. Glatnuzina, of Mania, had the misfortune to have his fiveroomed house destroyed by fire at 2.i!n yesterday afternoon. The cause of Ihe outbreak is a mystery. Mrs Glamuziua was feeding her six months old baby on the verandah when she hoard a crackling noise and discovered that the house was in flames. Some 20 men employed on the drainage works (by the Lands Department, seeing the smoko, rushed to the building, but the fire had so strong a hold that only a few domestic articles could be saved. The house was insured, but there was no cover on the furniture and effects, Mr Glamuziua was working about four miles from his home when the fire occurred.
