WASHINGTON CITY ARRESTS. ■ INEBRIETY DIMINISHES. (Received 10 a.m.) VANCOUVER, April 10. Actual arrests for drunkenness in the City of Washington have decreased by 30 per cent since the appearance of beer for open sale. It appears that more drinkers are satisfied with the milder alcoholic beverage, who formerly drank throat-searing concoctions called “gin” and “Scotch.” The curious fact emerges, however, that younger drinkers are less appreciative of beer.
