ORDER OF SILVER WOLF

AWARDED NEW. ZEALANDERS. SCOUTS’ HIGHEST HONOUR. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, April 16. The Chief Scout, Lord Baden-Powell, has awarded, the Order of the Silver Wolf, the highest order in the scouting movement, to Major-General Sir Alfred Robin, Chief Scout Commissioner for Now Zealand, and the silver medal to Major W. E. S. Eurby, general -secretary to the New Zealand Boy .Scouts’ Association.

Major-General Sir Alfred Robin avus born in Duifedin, and educated at the Otago Boys’ High .School, and served in the South African War, and also in the Great War with the Ncav Zealand Military Forces, from 19. Uto 1910, when he retired from the Army. Ho Avas Chief of the General Staff in Now Zealand, from .1907 to 1912, and Avas on the Imperial General Staff at the War Office, London, from .1912 to 19b!.Sir Alfred, Avho first became connected Avith Lord Baden-PoAvell in South Africa, was appointed Commissioner of the Scout Association of Wellington about tAvelve years ago, and his organising genius raised the moA’ement in his district from a retrogressive state into the strongest in the Dominion. \He retired from the post three years ago, and has since been deputy-commission-er. Major Furby, avlio suav service Avith the Ncav Zealand Forces in the Great War, has for several years been executive of the scouting movement at the Christchurch headquarters.
