CRASH THROUGH BARRICADE

A serious accident, resulting in the death of "William Templeton, of Pallia, single, aged 22 years, occurred at Campers' Creek, Te Anau, yesterday. Mr Templeton and a pillion rider, Mr Alfred Cyril Crofts, aged 2!), were proceeding toward Tua Taperc, and apparently failed to see a notice which stated that the road tv as closed owing to the approach lo the bridge on the Tua Taperc side having been washed away. The machine crashed through the barricade which had been placed across the road, ran along the bridge, and dropped 1-1 feet over the end into the stream below.
Beriouri injuries ■were received by MT Templeton, and lie died in the Hiverlon Hospital.
MT Cross bad a miraculous escape and sustained two fractured ribs. He was also bruised and is suffering from shock, lie is at premint in the Hiverton. Hospilal.
