WIT ANG ARE! SUE-BR A NGH. At the November meeting of the Whangarei sub-branch, N.Z.E.1., the guests were Mr A. Murdoch, of Otahuhu, and Mr A. Shearer, of Newmarket. Mr Murdoch addressed the meeting on the Superannuation Fund and the proposals at present being considered by Parliament. Mr Shearer spoke on education in Canada and IRS.A. Both speakers were given a hearty vote of thanks.
Several smaller matters were then dealt with. It was decided that the sub-branch advise the Auckland brand) that it considers that the annual subscriptions of members should be reduced by 33 1-3 per cent. It was decided also that the sub-branch donate £5 5/from its surplus funds towards the fund for the erection of memorial gates at. the Auckland Teachers’ Training College. The meeting closed after a vote of thanks had been passed to the ladies who were in charge of morning tea.
