Bidding at the first call of the week on the Auckland Stock If.'-.clmage was exceedingly quiet. In the banking section, the demand was very far from keen. Proceedings opened with Australasias, for which there was no bid, and Commercials were offered one penny lower at 14/tt. Holders of New Zealanda still asked £- fi/, but the best buyer stopped at £l2 -1/(5.
New Zealand Breweries were available (hi cheaper at £1 7/P, which was 2/ above the highest bid. Government, stocks wore steady, but quieter, with quotations unchanged.
Waihis were the only line which evoked real interest, .and these changed hands at the new high level of 18/4 with more wanted at that fig-
