ANOMALY IN ACT,

Attention to an anomaly in the Crimes Act, relative to the conversion of motor ears, was drawn by Mr R. A. Wright (Coalition, Wellington -Suburbs) in the House of Representatives yesterday. Mr Wright asked if legislation would be introduced this session to correct it. He said that Mr Justice Herdinan had instructed a jury to acquit three accused persons who wore jointly charged with stealing a motor car, stating that under the present law he had no alternative. The Minister of Justice, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, said the matter required close investigation, and that it would be carried out.
