BERTRAM. RESCUE RECALLED.

Captain Hans Bertram, the German airman who with his mechanic,. Adolf Klausmann, was lost in the wilds, of Central Australia for weeks, .arrived at Sydney today attended by an escort of six local aeroplanes. He had spent last night at Canberra. . The main object of Captain Bertram’s visit to the capital, was to thank the Federal Government for the assistance rendered in rescuing him and his companion. A thanksgiving service was held in the Canberra Anglican Church. It was attended by members of Parliament and prominent citizens.

Captain Bertram continued his flight to Sydney today in his now famoud Junkers monoplane. He was enthusiastically -welcomed by 200 people, the German Consul-General and other representative ..persona.
