The special correspondent of tho “Daily Telegraph" at Dublin says lie understands that Air de A r alera is convinced there is not the slightest chance of his point of view being accepted by Britain, and has decided to devote tlie aeeumulated land annuities payments, now totalling more than £2,000,000, to the purpose of the Free State, including the strengthening of the position of his own party.

“God knows I do not want to revive hatred ami bitterness," said General Alulcahy in the Dail in tabling amendments to Hie Pensions Bill designed to withhold pensions from persons who shot, members of the Provisional Government and oilier officials.
The Alinister of Defence, Air Frank Aiken, retorted that if General Alulcahy wanted trouble he would get all ho wanted. Recalling his own service under General Alulcahy, Air Aiken said: “I burned 1G trains at his orders, using whisky, not petrol. I was praised for doing it.
“General Alulcahy showed himself to be a bully and behaved brutally when he was a victor. We want pensions for the dependants of men he ■xecuted,"
