SUPERANNUATION FUND

INVESTIGATIONS TWO YEARS OLD. REPORT NOT READY YET. (From Our Parliamentary Special.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Owing to the protracted nature of its investigations, the departmental committee appointed about two years ago to look into the state of the Public Service, teachers’ and railways’ superannuation funds, has been lost sight of during recent months. It had been expected that the report of the committee would be in the hands of the Government before the present session of Parliament opened, but no indication is yet available as to when the committee will ccimplete its work. The possibility that a report will not be presented, in view of the fact that the National Expenditure Commission is inquiring into the same subject, was mentioned lo the Prime Minister, who said he was unable to say whether that course would lie adopted. He said (lie committee had been a particularly useful one, and it had to deal with some difficult points from time lo lime. It was possil.de that data cnllocled to dale would be placed before (he Royal Commission, and thus assist it to arrive al recommendations basin] on Hie evidence the departmental committee had adduced.
