CUBAN INSURRECTION
NUMEROUS SKIRMISHES,
MILITARY RALLY ORDERED,
(Received 9 a.m.) HAVANA, August 13
It is reported that the revolt in Santa Clara is spreading. The President, General Machado, has departed for the rebel zone, presumably to confer with the Opposition leaders, and so end the bloodshed.
Numerous skirmishes are reported, with conflicting announcements as to the casualties.
The Army Chief has ordered all the retired reserve officers, as well as exsoldiers to present' themselves for immediate service.
