WELFARE LEAGUE

The monthly meeting of the Management Committee w’ris hold in the Library Hail on Tuesday night. Mr F. Boyd presided. Other members present were Messrs A. J. Magee, J. MacKenzle, R. Potter, W. Purchase, P. Aloe, D. Lorimer, L. F, Morgan and E. Hay (secretary), Mr M. Aldrgan was bn committee duty.

Correspondence

In regard to position of the Portland Post Office, the request of the league to have the building moved to a more central position could not be acceded to.

General Business. It Was decided to have the work outlined by the grCen-keeper carried out on the croquet lawn. Tile work of placing fascines and filling-in open drain on sports ground will be done, if necessary labour can be secured under the No. i 5 scheme.

Accounts amounting to £46 19/3 were passed for payment. In accordance with a, recommendation passed at the annual meeting, the committee considered the question of finance iti connection with the recreation ground.
