CONDUCTOR ASSAULTED
A WOMAN CONVICTED. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Mrs. Elizabeth Silverworth was convicted and discharged at the Police Court today for assaulting a tram conductor by smacking him on the nose and knocking his hat off because he asked her for the fares of children over three years of age. When she appeared before the court she addressed the Magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, as “Your Highness.” The Magistrate remarked that the woman should not go about Jutting tram conductors. “She has a husband; let her hit him,” he concluded.
