ADDRESS TO ELECTORS
(Special to “Northern Advocate.’’) WAIMAUKU, This Day.
The Rt. Hon J. G, Coates, Leader of the Opposition, addressed a large meeting at Waimauku last evening. Mr A. Wintour was in the chair. Mr Coates dealt with the railway problem and stated mat although the railways were not paying, the Gov-
ernment was spending money on the upkeep of roads for the competition of buses and service-ears. The speaker stated that he was the originator of the sliding scale of wheat duties, and said that the removal of the duties would not affect the price or bread to a great extent.
Mr Coates answered a number ot
questions, and at the (dose ot the meeting was accorded a hearty vote of confidence.
