Wilkinson, of Kamo, i* spending a holiday in Australia, * ♦ * ♦ Miss Verner Wlshart is paying a visit to Auckland. * * * ♦ Mr >and Mrs Morgan are in residence in their home in Bank Street. « * v ♦ Mrs Chapman, Hokianga, spent a few days ip, Whangarei during the week, ♦ * * * Mrs Trombath has returned from Auckland, where she spent a few days last week. , ♦ ' * * * Mrs D. E. Young, Hikurangi, who has been on holiday in Auckland, has returned home. ♦ ♦ ♦ • On Thursday Mrs F. H. Parley enter-! tained a number of her friends at a delightful musical evening at her home. * * * <5 On Mrs Charters gave 1 a small dinner party, followed by bridge. _The guests spent a very enjoyable evening. * * * • Miss Eileen' Millington, Mangakahia, is shortly to be married to Mr Cecil Webster. Both are well known to a large circle of friends in the district. i * * * * The ladies who participated in the debate at the Presbyterian Hall bn Wednesday evening are to be congratulated heartily on the excellent addresses they rendered. The musical and elocutionary programme was also of a very high order, but it was regretted that, owing to its unexpected length, some of those who generously gave their services were not’ able to respond to the demands of the audience for encore numbers.
