QUEST FOR BEAUTY.
IMPORTANT RULES. The first rule of beauty is cleanliness. The second one is perseverance. Ten minutes a day systematic beauty culture is worth two hours at the end of a week if you let things slide the other six days.
Massage is excellent!. . But the wrong movements will, make havoc of the delicate muscles , and tissues «f neck and face.
The following are good massage rules:
Use the cushions at the tips of the middle and third fingers. Work gently but firmly with upward and outward movements.
To lessen that ugly wrinkle round the mouth use the fingers in a circular movement from the edge of the mouth to the ear.
Wrinkles across the forehead should be gently rubbed round and round or across—never the -same way as the lines.
Massage from the outer edge of the eyes towards the hair growth at the temples is excellent; it helps to lift the face.
Do be careful round the eyes. Only the gentlest patting should be done or the delicate skin is pulled and stretched and instead of fewer lines more will appear. Very often a dry skin causes wrinkles and then a good skin food should be used nightly. Take off the surplus with a tissue or a tiny wad of purecotton wool. Lines across the forehead are* caused sometimes by the habit of lifting the eyebrows. Two deep-seated furrows will appear between the eyebrows if frowning is continually indulged Get rid of these ugly linemaking habits first, and then set about eradicating the wrinkles themselves.
