RARE OCCURRENCE
ROYAL VISIT TO JAPAN.
(Received 9.30 a.m.) TQKIO, April 7.
For the first time in 50 years, Japan, has been visited by a reigning monarch. The arrival at Yokohama of the King and Queen of -Siam was recognised by the salute of 21 gun% from the cruiser Isuzu.
The railway station at the Plaza was densely crowded. The Royal pair proceeded to the Kasumigaseki Palace, where they are staying. The Em* peror will confer a decoration on the King and Queen, and an elaborate programme of functions has been arranged.
